Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 1988) is an American performer, actor as well as a dancer. Early Broadway performances included Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The actress was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Play in the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford spent her career working alongside renowned actors and directors across theatre and on television. she will continue that collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford is next seen opposite Kumail Nannjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently in production on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. It will also be available as an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway in March 2023, with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The production is produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which brought you Hamilton. Ashford's latest performance was Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on a nationwide scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp. Ashford appeared for two seasons in the CBS popular comedy B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not familiar with Broadway has won two Tony Drama Desk Awards as well as Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character in the role of Essie. Additional Broadway performances include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and her first role as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and was raised in Denver.
