Jennifer Garner, who was born in and was raised within Charleston West Virginia, on April 17, 1973, was born in Houston, Texas. Her dad, William John Garner, was a chemical engineer for Union Carbide. The mother of her Patricia Ann taught at a local college. Desiring to follow in her father's footsteps her graduation was a degree in chemical engineering. To fulfill her ambition to be an actor, she decided to move in New York and try her acting career in the world of Hollywood. In her Broadway role was accompanied by a stint at a local establishment. Her former husband Scott Foley met her on the television show "Felicity," where she played a cameo. Her breakthrough came with the action-thriller "Alias." Garner's debut lead role as a character was the acclaimed romantic comedy "13 Going on 30." The film starred her as the role of a teenager caught stuck in the body of a 30-year-old. Garner chose Gary Winick to direct the film. They were looking at other projects until Winick's death in 2011. The year 2009 was the first time Garner became an artist ambassador by Save the Children U.S.A.
